so folks....the board is back up and i have learned some very important lessons.
above all other lessons...i have learned that i need to keep eveyone's email addresses on my home computer and not on file here at this forum!
i'm really sorry to all those who got locked out and who i couldn't find to make contact.

i'm not sure why it doesn't really satisfy me. the absolute lack of folks over there commenting or complaining....makes me feel like we're the only ones hosted here!
in the meantime...i have set up that new board...and i think you should go over and have a look around...then we can decide what to do.

no matter what happens...we will keep both boards...as we'll need a meet-up place should this ever happen again. like on our third birthday, for instance.

My basic weeding rule: if they grow in rows they're flowers;
if they don't they're weeds.

no...we cannot move our posts. forumco keeps them.
what i CAN do...is link these forums into the new board. for instance, put a sticky on top of each forum with a direct link to the corresponding forums here.
we will need to post here from time to time to keep this board active so that forumco doesn't delete it.
it will be tricky...but maybe after a while the new board will duplicate what's been posted on this board and so we won't be too upset to lose it all.

I was browsing the forum when it went down and I started getting a server error message then later the "down for maintenance" page started coming up so their server crashed out or something.
anyways, I love the new forum and it seems much faster for me than the forumco one |
