Richard I cannot find where you asked about the bamboo teepee, so posted here . John who does my gardening 2 hours a week made it for us with his homegrown bamboo .It was an experiment . He made the teepee then put in long tent pegs at each corner and wired the tent pegs to the bamboo , its pretty solid now .The bamboo ends sit on slabs of stone.These pics were taken in DEC 08 when the Mandevilla, 1 red and 1 white were planted together. Today the vines are right up to the cross pieces .I think in another 6 months the bamboo will be covered.

My basic weeding rule: if they grow in rows they're flowers; if they don't they're weeds.

Looks good Gwen,good idea sitting it on stone,wont last long if it has contact with soil,talking of soil you do have typical red aussie soil dont you  |

Us here south of Brissie dont have soil that colour just the pain black when its wet grey when its dry kind of soil..
