Gail the Hippeastrum seeds you sent are up out of the potting mix,
they look good .how long till flowering ,years I reckon.

...day

My basic weeding rule: if they grow in rows they're flowers;
if they don't they're weeds.

Somewhere on this Forum is a topic about my big red hippy *I cannot find it* and how long it took till they flowered I think it could be either two or three years Gwen as my first seedling flowered this year ..

Gail will remember..

Good news Gwen I think it is two or three years.

I can't remember Mary-Anne.

I found some old hippy seeds from my original plant which I saved a couple of years ago so decided to plant them a couple of weeks ago - got nearly 100% germination judging by all the little green spikes poking through the potting mix... now what am I going to do with 50 odd hippies

Oh Yeah.. I have two seeding up from when I brushed the white pollen on the red or was it the red on the white/striped one I wait eagerly for those two/three years to see what my fiddling around with nature did.

Gail I could not think of anything prettier than a huge clump of hippies somewhere in your garden..
