This paintings is the only one that i used a photo as my subject

Sorry it didn't come out very clear,This is style that i`m keen to stick to.1 Using black and white adding only three other colours and 2 paint only from the imagination while using the horizontal and vertical lines to fool the eye.I could try and take a better photo of this one, along with some other painting

I painted this one 20 years ago and still needs to be framed

if they don't they're weeds.

Amazing Richard, I always admire an artist who has an eye and the patience for detail, I have neither, I guess if my style was to be called anything it would be impressionist in that if you look close there isnt much accurate detail at all..... I dont paint as often as I would like, about one every year or two...! Not enough time

It's not hard to pick the ones where I have only just started working in acrylic LOL but they get better

I have a couple of other more contemporary ones but not sure where in my photo files they are, will search them out and add them on

Good work Di, i know it can be hard to get time to paint, for me our crappy house is too small and there's not room to paint,I`ve got a painting that 80% finished but has at least 100 hours work left. When we rebuild i`ll have a studio and do a lot more painting then.

Wow 100 hours left, see I would never have the patience for that, I really admire that, its true dedication. My work is about suggestion and feel, as you see in the cave stream one and the tryptich I am playing with textured media, love it, but last painted over a year ago, need to get back to it. My goal is to sell a painting one day. Room is an issue, we have a huge home but it still seems so full and now Mike has the spare room for his office, you need the right light too. This is a reminder to get back to at just as soon as the darn rugby season is up and running :-)

You both have done a fantastic job

Di, is the goddess one a self-portrait?

Actually yes the goddess is loosely based on moi - I used my body outline to make sure the proportions were roughly accurate (I dont think I am that thin now LOL) - she has all colours in her hair to represent the goddess in everyone and she is worshipping what to me represents the goddess Isis, you see her with the horns and orb on her head, it's also one of my tattoos. Isis, the goddess of all goddesses

Two talented Kiwi's .
Richard you certaintly have had the talent gene passed on to you .I do like your style.
Its different, and thats what all artists strive for, difference.
Some paintings in Gallery situations do draw the eye to them .
Your work is in that catagory.
Di, Keep painting and don.t join an art group ,you don't need you natural talent
changed.I love your use of texture, do you use texture paste, its great.
I love your orange/blue contrasting colour painting but my favourite is the Cave
.Keep painting.

Thanks very much Gwen, its a pity i have a gardening addiction as well, other wise i would be painting for a living.

I will post my lastest painting after soon and you will see why there's still 100+ hours of work left.

These paintings below are my bothers,he's just started selling some of his lastest works in Brisbane ,the most recent one sold for A$1300.My mother also paints in oils and a little in water colours, she does well at selling her works but not in the same price range. Her father was a cartoonist for The Press newspaper in Chirstchurch.

Just a look at preview the first photo is ok,i dont know whether the other two will be able to be accessed,if it dosn`t work i`ll try again
