This is a bit better news for everyone. Callum, who I think maybe should keep the name his old family gave him, and that's Bo, is now nicely rounded and was fit enough to accompany us to the vet yesterday for vaccination. His owner had said he had little interest in toys but this new tug rope was HIS the minute I showed it to him. Unfortunately his brother, Dundee, also thought it was HIS, so we had a short, sharp, nasty fight where poor Dundee bit his tongue and bled a bit, and now neither can have it. Well ....not while both are present at least. I was hoping they'd be nice brothers and play tug of war. Ha! LOL. Not likely. He is proving to be a wee bit destructive, chewing his bedding up, but early days yet, we have a lot to learn about him no doubt. He loved my vet, Brian, on sight, which is good.

Ohhhhhh Betty Bo is so lovely - love the colour of the rich sable ??? coat. What a darling. And of course that toy is worth drawing blood for - in a dog's view anyway. How wonderful to have made him so healthy!!!

I love that pic with the light on his coat, and he is a very handsome dog. You never know how he was treated before you got him back, which could explain his behaviour. You will change him to have a nice nature again.

Pamela, he is a red shaded sable. If I showed you a photo of him when he was a young adult you would say it can't possibly be the same dog, because back then he was cream all over. LOL. A real blonde. I can't wait to see him in full coat and with more shine on it, but yes, always satisfying to pull one back from the brink. The fight shouldn't have surprised me as Shelties aren't always the meek little lap dogs that people assume they are. Tammy in particular is a tiger. LOL. I admire her spunk and really it's that which has enabled her to cope with her handicap so well, having to be in support casts on the hind legs. Her current casts must suit her, she's having fun terrorising most of the other shelties.

Pitta, his behaviour smacks of boredom and never having canine company. If my dogs hear or see something and start barking madly, he doesn't look for what they are barking at, he just spins in tight circles, barking. So many sort of incidents like that which show he isn't a pack animal yet. Hopefully he will get there.

so glad to hear he is getting healthy how are the other dogs now with their tummy troubles?
no doubt it will take some time for him to adjust to his new life and find his place, and learn to play nice with his new brothers and sisters.

Ot, the other dogs are fine now, thank Heaven. What I am not looking forward to is the girls coming in season, as Bo seems easily sex-ited. I feel sorry for him really, a lot must be confusing for him.

Thanks, Cheryl. I could have parted with him only yesterday seeing a woman phoned me about a sheltie, and she didn't want to buy a puppy, he was probably just what she was after, BUT no way known is he going anywhere. I now have two little shadows following me everywhere, he is just like his brother Dundee, has to be at my side. I always reckoned you don't repay a dog's loyalty by getting rid of it.

You're right, Cheryl, two homes are more than enough for one little dog.
Pamela, it'd be a boring place if everyone was like me, albeit nicer for animals. |
