It is too early for frosts! Have a fun day with a class full of kids

Had a great day with with all those kids,i was assigned to the forest tribe where we built a fortress, learned to trade with neighboring tribes, come up with a story on how tribe come to be and so on,it was good fun,

Had a good yarn with one of the teachers today who has only just moved here after teaching in the city, she just loves teaching in a country school, she was saying that it amazed her just how polite and friendly country kids are and that being away from city junk food makes them so much easier to teach.

Good day, pleased i did it.

This is about half of the forest tribe the rest where out on a surveillance mission(other words for clowning around)

Sounds like a fun excursion, far better than the ones I went on as a kid. I might sugest something similar to the teachers at my kids school. I know what you mean by country schools though ours is one on the bigger (for country) schools... about 230 kids mostly from rural areas and the majority are great kids to be around... and I have no patience with kids who muck around (I'd be no good as a teacher )

One of the last primary schools I went to was closed down as there was only 6 kids left and the next one I went to after that had 16 was a culture shock

Your local school Gail is about the same size as ours but ours is also a high school as well.

Man the schools you went to Cheryl were small,do you still know any of those old class mates?

Today is Big Smoke day, sell wool, fix car for its 6 month WOF and then bring home some strong % beerfor my 5.00 pm GD catch up.

I still stay in touch with a friend I met in grade 2 at school on the southside of Brisbane. We were best friends throughout school then went our separate ways (i worked away a bit and lived down south for a couple of years) though we kept in contact with the occasional letter. After about 10yrs, coincidentally, we both moved to the same small town north of Bris and have been moving to similar areas ever since and we have both ended up near Gympie though she is the other side of town. It has always just been a coincidence that we ended up at the same place, just following jobs, etc - neither of us had even mentioned moving to the next place each time. We don't see each other a lot but do keep in contact every couple of months.

Richard, our school is only primary. The kids go into town for high school (two state high schools of about 1000 kids each and a couple of smaller private ones).

There are a couple of small schools around here (a bit further out) with only 20 or so kids. They are just managing each year to get enough kids to stay open. The govt wants to close them but not having much luck yet .
