These ferocious looking creatures are good guys so if you see any don't hurt them. For those that don't know them, they are ladybird larvae and eat lots of aphids 


Knowledge is knowing a tomato is a fruit, wisdom is knowing not to use it in a fruit salad.

How cool, I never seen them before 
My basic weeding rule: if they grow in rows they're flowers; if they don't they're weeds.

Do an image search for ladybird larvae and you will find quite a lot of different ones.

We hardly see any aphids around here either. If we do see them, they are gone in a day or two.
Thanks Richard but that wasn't a great shot as it is blurred. It wouldn't be so bad if the insects sat in a place that was easy to take a pic of instead of me having to lean sideways and balance on one foot or something

Plenty of Mantis again this year, but very few ladybirds and NO aphids for the past few months,
