I though these were weeds when they came up a couple of weeks ago Surely this is early for Freesia
Looking back through my last years photo's The first flower opened on 13th August. Surly it does not take 6½ months for them to flower Does Anyone know...

Mine did that last year but died down again without flowering before the right time. Only had a couple that came up at the right time actually flower.

Do you lift yours and pop them into the crisper before planting, I do with some of my hyacinths or I get stumpy flowers, I have a lot in the ground, I just leave them there, too much work

Is that so I do hope it does not happen to mine, I had heaps of them up last year Gail so many beautiful colours they have been in that long pot for many years now I cannot remember when they started though, I wonder if the Anemones and Ranunculi will start early I seen one up when we were laying SC mulch weeks back and told Tony to be careful of it, it fell on death ears he not only pulled that up but one of your daylilies I was growing from seed he said he thought they were weeds what with white handwritten labels beside them I dont think so..
That's interesting Cheryl three months I will let you know what happens later.. No I dont lift any of those kind of bulbs or corms. hey maybe they thought it was Spring with the rain we had been getting lately
I dont think I will be doing any gardening today for a while..
Its raining it pouring

It has finally stopped rain here Cheryl your turn will come, you may have to wait till the Autumn or Winter though when it's supposed to rain.
And I will be feeling left out of the rain.

Will you stop talking about beautiful spring bulbs, its torture. When I lived in VIC,I grew all the dutch bulbs and all the ones you are talking about plus all the dafforils, johnquils and snow drops. I know they will not grow in the Cape.

Cheryl. You really know how to turn the torture screws .
Your garden must have so much perfume in the spring .
I am blown away ,Its fabulous.
Only 2 plants more would complete it for me
Brown Boronia and Daphne ,oh yes and blue violets.

thanks everyone, I have a nice Daphne but kill Boronias, only get one season, but I do get one every so often, cheaper than a bunch of flowers and the smell is worth it
I'm not too good with tulips either, hardly worth it really, flowers dont last long for all the mucking around you have do do etc...
Pitta I have the native Violet here years ago, was to invasive so I ripped it all out, took a few years to get rid of, bit like the aluminum creeper
