On very RARE occasions we get Field Mushies in our supermarket then we pig out on them

We get mushrooms in our grass but I am not game enough to eat them I ate some years ago that I picked in a paddock and was as sick as a dog.. So only eat the supermarket ones now.

We get them in our lawn too ,look like the real thing ,not worth the risk to eat them.MA Richard do you love them as well. I could just imagine how good they taste.

You have to know what to look for, the poisonous toadstool mushroom here in NZ have a light yellow colour underneath and the skin on top doesn`t peel off the the eatable kind.
They will be just days away form popping up in the horse paddock over the road. I can sense some more photos coming up  |

I do love the wild mushes Gwen,its the first thing i think of when it rains this time of year.
In a hot pan for three minutes with a bit of butter, finished off in a white sauce.....orrr yyyuuummm |

We get what is called Gold Tops here in the far north,if you eat those, they will send you into a land of funny dreams ,if you get my drift.
