Yeah I hate using anything, but as my stonefruit are right next to the toms and they needed some for their curl (yeah I know wrong time of year) I figured I would do it once that leave it at that for this year, I have tried to do all I can for them, if it doesnt fix them then I try again next year with better seeds and a different part of the garden....on the upside, the NZ Gardener lady came through with an id for my mystery pink which I recognised from her photo, it's black krim, no wonder its so good, everyone raves about black krim - although my kids and husband reckon it looks a weird colour cut open, kind of dark greeny purply, but oh so tasty my favourite from the four sorts so far.

wait a minute.
how can your pink tomato be a black krim?

look at lena's pics over in the season downunder thread at TV and you'll see that pink is the last colour one can use to describe black krim, which, btw, is my FAVOURITE TOMATO. hands down now. i've finally tasted enough tomatoes to have a favourite one!!!!

cranky people live longer. i'm going to live forever! perth, wa

Well I have to confess the first couple may have been picked with excess enthusiasm, they were a dark dusky pink, but when I left the next few on the vine until they were really starting to ripen to the point where I didnt dare leave them they were very deep cerise red with a dark green/brownish top, I will take a picture of the next few ripening now when they are ready. They are certainly very delicious Richard how dark do yours colour up to?? Also was at a friends today, we shared our tomato seedlings, hers a as healthy as anything and while she hasnt had anything ripen at all, her brandywines are large and smooth. I am wondering if the new garden needs to be alot deeper and better cultivated over the area that was lawn just a year ago.
