We didnt have the temps forecast, its 28c now at nearly 6pm at home, interestingly just 7 minutes away from here away from the water and on the flat its 31C - go figure. I noticed the smoke from the Oz fires this morning, there are actually quite dark drifts of it and of course our sunlight isnt shining white it has that golden brown hue that comes from shining through smoke in the atmosphere, quite eerie, can only imagine what its like over there.

Did you not get some rain last night M A,had a look at the radar for your area and there was a area of rain coming from the north west.I`ve got a brother out NW Brisbane, when he`s out working i send him texts when there`s storms coming I suppose you need rain now before the dry season arrives. |

We got about 10 mm of rain. Sooooooooo welcome. The 18 Manchurian Pears (some 20 feet high) really suffered with blackened leaves but they are still alive. It was so hot at my place on Saturday that a large candle in my cabana melted into the wooden retaining wall. No candle left. The stain will be a reminder of the intense heat but we were lucky that there was no fire.

I've had that happen a few times too. I used to have a candle collection with lots of different shapes but over the years and hot summers they more resemble balls of wax than any shape now
We had about 11mm late yesterday and overnight but most missed us and went down the coast.

I must have scrolled down too fast Cheryl and missed your Pic Isn't is amazing what heat will do Thankfully I have not had that happen yet
Cheryl I wonder if the candles with the colour in them are softer in some way. I have the short fat cream or is that white candles in the 5 candle holders on two 1 metre high wrought iron stands, and boxes of the plain white in the cupboard on top of the range-hood they keep their shape, maybe our home is a lot cooler than I think.
Being under that iron roof would be very hot too, poor candles you have to feel sorry for them. What a way to go..
