It's raining, about 17c and a southerly front has come through. On the rain radar it doesnt look like much and the weather data says only 0.6mm rain but the garden looks good and soaked and there is a bit of rain lying round on the paving so the garden will be very happy.

Is that a touch of sarcasm there, Richard?

Very light rain this am, but nothing of note, just one of those 18c nothing days we sometimes get here, not wet, not dry, not warm, not cold, not sunny, but the sun peeps thru occasionally, not blowing, not still....not complaining though its easy weather to do anything in

i was down your way today di shearing sheep,it was nice to have a 18c day as all my shearing is outside in the sun.Today was yet another example of how out of touch the weather forecasters are when it comes to areas outside the main centers, they forecasted a 18c high for you in Christchurch but also a 18c high up here as well,we ended up getting to 27c, this level of incompetence has gone on for years, they don't seem to have learnt yet that like all other inland areas of the world, are always warmer than coastal areas. And they are supposed to be experts |

The hot air mass that brought the high temperatures over in Oz is due it affect us for the next two days, forecasters are saying that NZ record temp of 42.5c set back 36 years ago may well be broken. Our lovely cooling river will be the place to be |

I hope it does not bring as much heat as we have had. Our weather forecast is also usually for the costal area that we are a part of but this valley is over a mountain range and it is always 8 degrees or so hotter than the coast and we are too small to have our own forecast. Come on rain!!

You area Pamela sounds exactly the same as here, only differences are we have two valleys and three hill rangers between us and the sea,and two the forecasters do give expected high temps for this area.the greatest difference i`ve seen between there expected high for a day and what it reached was 16c. No sign of cooling for you Pamela yet?? So you`ve had little rain also, we`ll have start a thread "whos got the driest countryside"lol |
