That's wonderful Gail. We had a couple of spits when I was mowing just before lunch probably dried up in the rain gauge..

We had about 9 or 10mm but there doesn't look like there will be much more. It was nice soaking rain at least.

That's good to hear...

It rained here just after I went to bed about 12.30 would have gone on for about 10 minutes but only half a mm in the gauge yet the ramp and steps still wet this morning and its so windy again.

I raked up four huge heaped barrow of leaves off the footpath and our grass yesterday before we mowed the garden looked so neat well that did not last long.. Only good thing is I am getting plenty of extra mulch for around the area where that path is..

No idea, but not enough

if they don't they're weeds.

Not much really is it Richard..

Cheryl ...Melbourne, Hobart and Adelaide had well below average rainfall for the calendar year 2008, with just 449mm in Melbourne, compared with an average annual rainfall of 652mm.

Send it down Huey...

Like you Richard, I get a lot of water seepage underground although my rainfall was only about 1200 - it is up above. Soem parts are dry and others are still quite moist under the mulch. However that seepage only happens when we get a big downfall or over a few days as I think there are aquifers in the hills above me and they have to fill up and then it seeps through the soil. I spent last winter with about a foot of water in a large part of my rose garden for months and now that same area is bone dry and day lilies are dying - although not the roses.
