Common Name Here: Lemon Myrtle.

The buds have been taking their time opening so only a few pics for now..

This is my shrub planted nearly five years ago.
Its taller than me at last about 180cms.

Unopened cluster of buds.

These are just starting.

I had to fight my way past this guys web to take the next lot of pics.
This spider loves it too no time to look for who its name.
I wonder what those white pointy things are

So do the ants so I cannot stay there for long..

They are even getting into my boots must be going to rain again.

So I crush some of the leaves and what a delightful smell
This pretty Lemon Myrtle has..

Thanks Pitta.. It is a lovely shrub mind you it has taken a while to get going I moved it from the first place I planted it as it was not happy in the full Sun, and now doing so much better in the part shade..

I like spiders too, except redbacks I was bitten by one when I lived in Townsville and it is something I will never forget.. Strangely enough we have never seen one on this block but at my daughters 10 kms away they have plenty..

I love it too Mary Anne. Is it your favourite tree?

It is very pretty Mary-Anne I love most of the lemon scented plants.

Cool looking critter

if they don't they're weeds.

MA Ive looked at many sites to try to find your lovely Arachnid web building spider ,I think it must be related to the
StAndrews spider
Have not found anything remotely like it so far but Im enjoying the journey .Pitta.

Pitta I think it could be this one Cyrtophora moluccensis Tent Spider http://www.brisbaneinsects.com/brisbane_weavers/TentSpiders.htm

Here are a few more pics so you can compare as the web does look like a tent of sorts.

I agree on it being a tent spider Mary-Anne

As mum - Pitta - mentioned above the lemon myrtle is now in the ground so I must keep it watered and keep an eye on it as well as the other three plants that have been put in the ground.. I am encouraged to do so by the photos of such an amazing and beautiful tree MA. Our small lemon myrtle looked very puny and uninteresting to me but knowing it's potential I will give it plenty of TLC.

I even went as far as to purchase some herbs - mint, thyme and chives and planted them in a pot with the parsley I was given .... maybe this 'gardening' is catching as usually I hate getting dirt under my fingernails!

Thanks for that Gail I have missed you I am so used to you telling me the names..

Faye I prune mine every year too I cut off all the dead seed pods and neaten it up, it was a punty looking plant once too, yes do keep the water up to it when it is young I found it a very thirsty plant.

Yes its a interesting spider lovely markings on the body and such a long strong web.

MA thanks so much for you pics and research on the tent spider.
I found that same sit .its a good one yesterday but Iwas not convinced it was your spider .
After looking at all those pics you added .Yes I agree on your findings.
Is that one seen a lot in your garden it beats the ones I have here hands down for beauty.
I do think Arachnids are just as beauriful as butterflies of which we have so many varieties.Pitta.
