i've deleted a few member accounts of folks who joined but not made even a first post in over three months.
also...i've authorized quite a few new memberships in the past few days, so i hope those folks are able to find their way around here okay and share some of their gardening tips with us.

I agree, looking at other gardens is both enjoyable and thought provoking. (Is that a polite way of giving me a source from which to steal ideas?)

I think it is how we all get how ideas from... a combination of what we see in pictures in magazines, on tv, the web and around the streets... and it is nice to see others gardens anyway
I'm all for new members for some friendly garden 'chat'

That's right Gail. This week I joined the Qld Hibiscus Society. I did it mainly so I can learn about the plants. A lovely guy rang me up and we had a real nice chat about Hibiscus and other gardening issues. He is a great chap.

Daniel, the best way to learn... and develop an addiction I used to know a couple who were in the hibiscus society but don't know if they still are as it was about 15 or 20 yrs ago.
I blame Ed for my developing addiction to aroids... I did not realise how many different philodendrons, anthuriums and alocasias there were I always thought there was only 2 or 3 types of philos but how wrong I was, so many different leaf forms and I always thought anthuriums were mainly grown just for those colourful flowers but there are many, many more than those ones!

I joined the Rose Society as well. Is there a12 step plan for people who join garden societies?
Lately I have been planting out bromeliads too.

Yep! I admit to being a plant tragic! I am not a specialist or knowledgeable in any way, shape or form but I do enjoy them!
