you'll probably notice that i've archived a few of the forums today. that's because i was reading a post in garden banter and noticed there were something like 13 pages to the index.
this should speed things up a bit.
unfortunately...the lurkers won't be able to read the archives...but all they have to do is register to have full access.
Speeding up is a good idea Tessa. I have a new computer which is pretty quick but sometimes it is slow on GD. I think what you do is "techmagic" so I am in awe that you have this forum running so well. It maybe just me, but is it worth checking again to see if it is time move some more archives...or other items?
there's two ways, thee. the first is to look at the front page of this site. look at the forums...and on the very right hand side you'll see a pink folder, and a yellow folder for each forum. the yellow one has all the archived threads. they only load when you want them. the pink ones load automatically when you first come to the site. so just click that yellow one...and all the old posts will re-load for you.
you can also use the search function...and stipulate that you want the archives searched as well.
