Hi Di and Welcome to Garden Delights.. Looking forward to hearing about all the thing you grow..
We have lots of Lebanese cucumber vines flowering and fruiting at present I can go down after and have a look to see if there are male and female flowers, if there are babies they wont look much different to zucchini..
Apple cukes are a very light green colour almost cream here so maybe it could be a pumpkin, rock melon or even a watermelon, can you take a pic instructions here http://gardendelights.forumco.com/topic~TOPIC_ID~1481.asp for how to put them on with Photobucket

Thanks Mary-Anne, haha they will be the mini pumpkins I tried to grow several times last season and gave up on, must have thrown them in the garden heap over winter and now mother nature is making a fool of me. I havn't quite got the photo thing right as I didnt put comments with them. The last photo is a female flower of a different plant , it doesnt have the round swelling so not sure if it something else. As you can see bumble bees busy and every flower had either a bumble bee or a honey bee in it working hard. The bird is a handraised thrush (1 of 2) that I have just realised, they are quite tame and love keeping me company in the garde. I have raised a few this season, they come into the vet clinic I work at as fledglings that have fallen from nests. Thanks
