Today my sister inlaw opened her door to put her cat outside ,as she bent down to put the cat on the verandah,a 10ft Python
lunged at the cat, striking its fangs into my sister inlaws hand between
thumb and index finger.Amid the confusion of getting the snake to let go and attend to the wound the snake slid into the house.Sister inlaw was taken to the hospital for treatment and observation .
In the meantime, my brother called the snake man ,who came and removed the Python which was coiled under a lounge chair.
Sister inlaw will be released later today. Pitta.

not good, now I know why I hate Joe Blakes

Oh dear. They must be scary even though not poisonous. I like snakes in general (although not the brown ones that Cree has to deal with) but not sure how I'd go if "attacked". Glad she is OK.

Gee thats no good Pitta what a shock, I hope your Sister-in-law will not be to stressed by this. I have picked up a Pyton or two in my time and they have always been so docile, maybe the python was sick or something...

I doubt the Python was sick , just hungry.
Sister inlaw is back home now , she's ok, said she did'nt get a fright,
was in too much pain for that.
Snake remover has relocated the replile, but another will take its place.

Yes Tessa they have a lot of teeth that curve backwards,so when they clamp on their prey you have a job to get them off.
Alls well that ends well .Pitta.

Tonight the curlew birds are running up and down the lawns .
If you did'nt know it was curlew , you would think their screaming was someone being murdered.Pitta.

A bit of a shock for your SIL, glad she is ok. I suppose the snake was wishing it had hold of the cat not a hand.
