It looks darker than the usual ones... nice one
I used to have a few dieffs but don't have any now... don't know why... I will have to do something about that I think... a good excuse to buy more plants

Thanks Pitta, I love my Aroid or Arum family of plants. I am always sniffing around trying to find something different Gail it is darker and not so lime green of the usual Dieff's, and the photo didn't do the yellow splotches justice....

in canada...diefs are strictly indoor plants. they do amazingly well indoors, actually. when i got to oz...i was quite surprised that no one has houseplants. i realize it's because we can grow out of doors all year round...but plants cheer the house up too.
dieffenbachia is supposed to make a tea that renders the drinker without voice for 48 hours. i am wondering if this will work on a dog...for obvious reasons.

Tessa. Dieffenbachia have the common name,Dumb Cane, they are also very poisonous . There have been cases of the plant causing the throat to swell, so you cannot speak. Of course you would have to injest some of the plant to have that effect. In my garden I have a large patch of the commonest one ,which I have to have removed. In the tropics they do take over like weeds .Pitta.

Tessa, I don't have many indoor plants as I kill them too easily

When I lived in Melbourne I had lots of indoor plants a rubber tree that went past the ceiling then bent over, then there was that green climbing thing that I grow out side here, it almost took over the family room then started creeping it way in to the kitchen so I chopped it back real short and it never was the same after that.
Then there was the philo and begonia's and I must not forget the African Violets I had lots of those as I kept potting up leaves and making more..
My Sister house was just as bad she used to have a lot of Cyclamens and Peace lilies and some Devils Ivy in the bathroom

MA. In the eighties I had 16 different plants in my lounge. Now I'd prefer to see everything growing outside .Pitta.
