Yes it is Ota, how are they going or did you give most of them away..

Just remember plants grown from seeds do not grow true to type.
So your pink ones could grow a slightly different colour from my one.
Pics taken in the shade and late in the day have better colours too.

All the colours are nice I cannot pick a favourite..

A frangi question... how do I tell when the seed capsule is ripe - does it split open suddenly so I lose all the seeds or will I have some warning. I have a couple of capsules/pods on one of mine that has been there for ages, its brown but still soft to touch, not dried out.I've grown them from seeds before - so easy - but never from my own and I don't want to lose the winged seeds.

Yes wait till they open up gail, mine took about one year before they split open but I watched them every day after a certain time.. I have never grown them just gave them away.. Maybe a onion bag net around them will do the trick.

Good idea about the net. I'm not sure how long they have been on the tree, several months at least, but it is on the yellow frangi (which hasn't flowered so far this season) which is between the tri, dark red, smaller pink and the common white so who knows what the flowers will look like... it will be interesting whether there will be anything different... probably not but fun finding out

You know I am not really sure now if it did take a year it may have been a little less. That Stephanotis of mine the seed usually bursts in January well it had for the past two years this year it did it in November, maybe all the rain..

Well I hope the bees have been busy just imagine what some of those flowers could look like a beautiful looking rainbow

Gail I found the best way I could save any seeds, was to put a stocking over the pods to catch them. I used to cut up stocking legs in different lengths , tie up both ends.Pitta.

Stockings are a good idea but I'd actually have to go and buy some... I never wear them, haven't for at least 20yrs I think I might have some old mossie netting there which would work too.

Same here Gail that's why I save the onion bags for the bigger seeds
Or use pieces of old net curtains for the smaller seeds..
