I have petunias in my hanging baskets once again this year across the front of the house, they make an excellent show
My basic weeding rule: if they grow in rows they're flowers; if they don't they're weeds.

Also I have now got my own garden in a pot. Herbs for cooking. May turn into a green thumb yet! Used some thyme - plus lemon, garlic, bay, peppercorns and butter - on the roasted brined chicken tonight - very tasty

I think you may be hooked, Faye Everyone starts with just 'one' plant or pot but that soon changes
That herb pot will do great.

I don't know if I will ever get the bug! I don't like dirt under my nails. I love the look of a well tended garden BUT don't know how far I will take it!

Give me dirt under the nails any day, prefer that to fingernail polish which I don't even own

No I am not fussed on nail polish or getting 'dolled' up BUT for some reason getting the grit under my nails makes me shiver. I guess I had better get used to it, ah!
The latest pot shown here is a cutting we got and I potted up. I put some other plants around it and stones on top to retain the moisture with the hope it will thrive. It is in full sun up until mid afternoon. Do you know what the tall plant in the middle is?

Frangipani - though looks a little different from the common one.

Yes it's a frangipani but as you say doesn't look like the usual. Will post pics as it changes and when we see flowers. I have no idea how long that will take!
Now had one open leaf! I know this may not be exciting to alla ya gardeners but I was thinking I'd killed it with overwatering.

Looking at this again makes me think it is a seedling frangi but you say it was a cutting so it might have been grown in some shade which would explain why it is so green looking.

I got a baby frangi ATM, only about 4 inches tall and the leafs (new ones) half an inch long , least I did not kill it

Thanks to Kevin,I have ordered 7 different FRANGIPANI in pots. I will most likely get them this week.Pics & names will be posted later. I am expecting a few different ones by mail also .so Ill have lots of different ones . I have the perfect spot, along the top of a bank behind the house ,perfect drainage, and away from the plants that need more water . I did'nt know ,but a local person is building up stocks of Frangipani for sale. A seller in the local area, how good is that as a Christmas surprise. Thanks Kev. Pitta.
