Well I have just come in - it is 7.40pm and I am officially declaring myself shattered. I feel like all good gardeners when you have put in a solid days work and didn't get to start until lunch time (shopping for plants etc till then). :)

Both Robyn Gordons are in the ground, along with 5 common type broms and 5 Liriope. The yard has been mowed and the transplanted grass sods watered.

Amazing how good it feels.

Daniel

I have some fairly powerful flood lights on front verandah. I have just been out doing some watering.

Have you, well beware of Mozzies the little blighters are out there already.

Oh and watch those Cane Toads they will be all over the new turf when the lights go off, that's when you come back out again with your torch and that trusty pick handle or a piece of 3x2.. Tony is going toad bashing on Wednesday night seeing the wheelie bin gets emptied on Thursday..

After all we have been asked to keep Australia Clean its our duty mate

My basic weeding rule: if they grow in rows they're flowers;
if they don't they're weeds.

Some nice plants there Daniel. I'm next to hopeless when it comes to naming broms, there are so many that look similar but have different names... and then you get the cultivars from crosses The stiffer leaves with mottled colours and little flowers in the well part are neoreglias. They will handle more sun. I'll go through pics of some of mine later as some of yours look similar and see which ones of mine are named.

In your first pic with all the plants still in bags - the amount of shade in that pic under those gums would be fine for most of those broms. They don't need deep shade, just that light filtered shade is fine. During summer, if you notice any burning at all, you can always move the odd one that prefers deeper shade easily enough to a shadier spot.

I can name all the plants in the first lot of pics... they have labels on them That one that isn't labelled is dracaena marginata tricolour.

Knowledge is knowing a tomato is a fruit, wisdom is knowing not to use it in a fruit salad.

A ounce of common sense is worth more than a ton of intelligence.
