We went to the markets this morning...travelled across town to a place called Ferny Grove. We've not been to markets there previously.
I found broms, and clivia, and lavender, and more broms, and lots and lots of stuff. Sadly each of the merchants had this strange ritual...they wanted me to part with money for the offerings they were offering...for sale.
Then we went to church on the way home. Kerrie offered an elderly lady (Phippsy, speaking of Joyce) a lift home. There was no room left in the car for people, so Kerrie had to walk to the lady's house. It isn't a real long way.
Then we took the lady for a drive - (I did a major re-load to fit Kerrie in) home here to unload plants and have a cuppa and then over to another part of BrisVegas to collect small childrens' table and chairs (an ebay purchase). Unfortunately, there is a Bunnings in the way coming home so I popped in there and nudged the credit card again. More little persons' chairs and plants everywhere saying, please take me home! Liriope (spelling?) and Robyn Gordon...and some more that name escapes me.
Now for a rest and then planting begin as the heat drops off later.
Markets are dangerous places...for wallets! Gail, I don't think the markets around here are as cheap as places like Gympie.

Now that you mention it I probably should confess that I had to go a "few" km out of the line that "the crow flys" in order for Bunnings to be in my way.

It was such a strenuous morning...I just fell asleep on the lounge...but the phone woke me up. The girl next door is getting married next Saturday and wanted to get rid of a full white chocolate mud cheese cake (fresh yesterday for bucks night) out of the house so she still fits in the wedding dress. So what am I supposed to do with that? Thing is...I will be the mug trying to squeeze into a suit to stand in front of her doing the ceremony...or at least part of it.

Bottom pic No 1 fat one Looks like Billbergia pyramidalis skinny one probably the one I gave you recently Aechmea gamsepala matchstick brom.
No 4.. red stem yellow flower Aechmea nudicaulis
Last one red feather shape looks like a Vriesea could be carinata Here is a link http://fcbs.org/pictures.htm to a good brom site there are thousands on it..
I don't have many of the coloured leaf ones so cant help you there Gail is your girl for that.
Dapples shade is the best Vriesea like shade ,Neoregelias and Tillandsias can grow out in direct sun, but I still grow plenty of mine in the sun as I don't have the shade, the common ones will grow anywhere like weeds well they all grow like weeds here...

That lilac one bottom of top pic is a crucifix orchid I have plenty, pink, red, orange, lilac and Gail gave me some white still tiny though, they can get evasive so I fill my wheelie bin up every late winter after I pull so many out, they multiply at a amazing rate in my garden..
