Its hard trying to scatter only six or so lettuce seeds into a bed I was a long way off with my counting this time, I cannot blame the birds can I as there would be less not more..

I have given away eight of these lettuce to the neighbours this week
I am not fond of the red ones but those curly green one Yumm..
The next lot of seeds are already in too.

Planted these four cucumbers a few week back they are on their way too

Tony planted 20 Desiree spuds again and in such a small space
I wonder how many he will get this time they came up very quick

And the poor Nectarine tree has been fruiting since late July
It has flowered again and more fruit has grown but it full of fruit fly

The chooks enjoy them though..

Plenty of leeks, silverbeet and rainbow chard growing well and Aussie garlic also Spring Onion and Radish in. I plant those seeds every few weeks as those two and lettuce are my favourite veggie.

My basic weeding rule: if they grow in rows they're flowers;
if they don't they're weeds.

Have I ever posted the pics of my cherry tree, last year I had a bird nesting in it and she kept all the ferals away and I had a bumper crop birds usually get most of them, but i dont mind as I do like to have them in the garden to eat the nasties

Thanks Tessa yes we are still eating very well from the garden would you believe there are still five pumpkins left after giving so many away.. I left one plant in for you to see how long it would last it has had a few little pumpkins on it the past month but they have gone brown and dropped off sadly not enough flowers around to do the brush trick.

Would cuke flowers work if they flower first I think I can remember you writing something about that once or was it for zucchini flowers..

How about those Hawks eh! Nice to see an underdog "sneak" in. (Speaking as an ex-NSWman and now a Qld'er) So the GF finally gets back to a Melbourne team. Now I will duck, weave and escape. Bye

Garden is going well Mary-Anne. I haven't even looked at the vegie garden for ages

Knowledge is knowing a tomato is a fruit, wisdom is knowing not to use it in a fruit salad.

A ounce of common sense is worth more than a ton of intelligence.
