The first one opened on Wednesday and it had been raining and so windy.
I managed to get one pic went down later when the rain had dried up
To find a branch had fallen of the gum tree up top and broken the two flowers on it.

Louisiana Iris after the rain.

WOW Mary-Anne that is a stunning colour, I love it

My basic weeding rule: if they grow in rows they're flowers;
if they don't they're weeds.

Thanks Cheryl Me Too, and its multiplying like crazy I must ask Gail if she would like some.
Not knowing much about Iris I wonder if it will be OK to dug up one piece in a couple of weeks if it is still flowering.

Thanks Cheryl, I supposed the worst thing that would happen would be the dug up plant may not flower next year

What a beautiful colour!! It's always the way though when you are waiting for a special plant to flower something will happen to it.

Knowledge is knowing a tomato is a fruit, wisdom is knowing not to use it in a fruit salad.

Not sure which day yet, depends on what Lauren is doing. Trying to think of somewhere between Coolum and Noosa that we haven't been before but we did think Lake MacDonald at Cooroy would be nice if nowhere else. Not much there for a cuppa though and I've only got a small thermos. I'll be talking to Lauren this week so will try and find out then.

I think the plant would be ok wrapped in damp but not wet paper.

Sounds good to me Gail I like that lake near the Gardens, don't matter about a hot drink for us we always take a esky with soft drinks when out anyway.

Damp paper it is then..

Lovely! every year I am tempted to buy some Louisianas and grow them. every year I don't. Not sure why - they are beautiful things.
