Been out collecting tomatoes from the many little err big volunteer plants around the block..
Not bad for Winter as I said in another topic we have only bought tomatoes twice in the past twelve months..
Here are the little beauties from today's harvest.

I think perhaps this one is a Black Russian though we have not grown them for two maybe three years, they are not our favourite one, too soft and watery.. I am amazed though that they are popping up in a garden bed years later..
Perhaps I should blame the birds again...

Yours look good
The only volunteers I ever have coming up are cherry tomatoes and I haven't grown them for years and years - I think some of the others I grow revert back or something I had to buy tommies for about a month so was lucky again this year. I picked another 2litre ice-cream container full 2 days ago and several more should be ready out there now.
Knowledge is knowing a tomato is a fruit, wisdom is knowing not to use it in a fruit salad.

Thanks Gail those smaller ones are a good cover the slice of bread size.
I love cherry toms they are so sweet, I grew them one year about three years ago we had some rain would you believe they split then the jolly fruit fly got in them, I do remember they grew into a very tall bush well over 2 mts as Tony had to wire extension stakes on the top of the ones in the ground
I have just found the packet of seeds I planted them on the 9-9-04 so its four years and its the right time Use by Aug 08 the seeds well its still August today so I will plant some this afternoon, as I prefer them in salads when we have a B-B-Q

What I would give for a nice fresh tommie, ham and cheese sanga
My basic weeding rule: if they grow in rows they're flowers; if they don't they're weeds.
