I read an article in our local paper the other day about 'Silver Leafed Desmodium' (Desmodium uncinatum) or Velcro weed. It was, and still is, planted as a pasture plant but is becoming an environmental weed. It has very sticky stems and leaves which can trap small animals. Besides trapping small birds, etc in it's sticky stems, someone found hundreds of tiny frogs dead - dehydrated and starved stuck on the sticky stems when clearing away some weeds.
