I was given a heap of wollemi pine cuttings yesterday and was wondering if they need any special treatment or just treat as ordinary cuttings? I doubt if they will do any good as the guy who gave them to me has a couple of trees that had accidentally dried out a bit so he decided to trim them back to tidy them up but I'll give them a try anyway.

I dont kito, but I'd just treat them like conifer cuttings? take a cutting with a heel if you can and then just treat as usual? that's what I would try anyway. good luck, it would be great to hear if they make it.

THanks Ota. I was given a large double handful of trimmings and there wasn't any heel cuttings unfortunately. I did a search and only found one reference to them and it said what I had already done so hopefully might have some luck. It also said that it can take up to 6mths to strike

I hope they make it, what a great project to try. You know I have some groundcover banksia cuttings that have been in for about 7 months now, they are starting to grow a bit so I think finally they might be striking roots. each time I've taken them out there is only little nodules formed at the bottom - talk about long winded

I had no idea they were going to take this long but it will be rewarding when they finally grow into plants for the garden so hang in there with the wollemi it will be worth it

Thanks Ota.
