This Callistemon tinaroo is flowering in the middle of summer.
I have had them spot flower at odd times often late Autumn or early Winter.
This plant usually flowers in August..

There are lots of sprays of buds on the shrub, hard to see though.

The buds are so pretty.

So are the flowers.

I wonder if the rain we had last year and the cooler weather is the cause.

It is certainly strange even the weeping cream one has flowers on it.

Maybe it is confused by the lack of heat, generally this summer...

Our callistemons have been spot flowering too which they seem to do off and on throughout the year. Yours are pretty Mary-Anne.

I'm wondering if we are in for an early winter though... or summer is still to come as the old black wattles in the paddock have been flowering and they usually flower only at the end of winter and end of summer - they are about a month earlier than usual. Also the dogs have been shedding badly too which is strange for this time of year.

Now you mentioned it, I commented to Ian the other day about a couple of anemones sticking their heads up.
