hello to all, I've just joined today although I did find this forum just over a week ago and have spent that time reading many of the posts.....I must say that I have been rather shocked by what I have read about that other forum, I am registered there (under another username) but have only ever posted maybe a half a dozen times but, the main cause of my shock has been from the fact that I recognize some of the people who were persecuting 'Louise' in regard to her comments about weedkiller, they are members and one a moderator of another garden forum (with a rather big membership) that I occasionally frequent, I also see that a couple of them are registered here but have only posted an introduction, just goes to show that many people have 2 faces and that the saying "gardeners are a friendly and sharing bunch" isn't always true, we don't all 'garden' the same, just as we don't all 'think' the same or 'look' the same, but regardless, we should all have respect for others and what they have to say or for what their beliefs are (as long as there is no harm intended to others) of course we won't always agree, but I feel it is rather sad that some people can find it so easy to publicly vilify another while all the time 'hiding' behind a username. my apologies for 'raving' on but I just felt the need to express my thoughts as well as say hi.

hi rose. welcome to garden delights!
we know exactly what you're saying about the other site. we've been on the pointy end of it ourselves. i'm shocked at some of the animosity i've seen on gardening boards. it boggles the mind. i've belonged to political boards that showed better form than some of the things i've seen on gardening boards. i wonder why that is?
anyway...we're 'live and let live' here...so long as no one's getting abused. i don't know louise or what happened to her. hopefully she'll find her way here where folks are a heap friendlier.
cranky people live longer. i'm going to live forever! perth, wa |

Hi Rose, I hope you find us a friendlier bunch. Welcome and don't be shy, we love to hear about others gardens.

Welcome rose. Enjoy yourself...it's all about sharing our gardening experiences. Well all go astray from time to time. I've certainly said things that I've regretted. Sometimes I'm just not very good at expressing myself.
