I've just been out on my scooter along the garden trail with my little Miss Pixie. She found a Dead log inhabited by some little marsupial mice ,with pink inside their ears.

She wants to kill them naturally so I have to steer her in a different direction. On my way back to the house in a clearing I saw a Ulysses Blue Butterfly , thats a sight to make you appreciate being alive

I noticed the new Genus name Melicope is listed as the food tree ,it used to be Euodia . My tree is planted now to feed the Blue Mountain Butterfly.

My basic weeding rule: if they grow in rows they're flowers; if they don't they're weeds.

Posted - 08/03/2009 : 09:59:00 RICHARD If you could put that blue butterfly in the palm of you hand there would be very little of your hand left to see. Everyone living south of Cape York may get all our wildlife in years to come as the south becomes warmer.

Posted - 07/03/2009 : 18:48:06 They are a beautiful butterfly, wish we got them here. We see plenty of blue triangles like these ones http://www.geocities.com/brisbane_butters/BlueTriangle.htm they are pretty but nothing like yours.

Those butterflies are so pretty Gwen, I used to grow that tree in Townsville it had pink flowers in a cluster even seen a blue butterfly or two, would you believe I seen one last week in the back garden here, I dont know which one is was though because it did not give me enough time to have a good look at it, it flew away when I was coming down the back steps..

Posted - 07/03/2009 : 15:51:47 Oh that butterfly is so beautiful, Pitta. You are very lucky to live where it lives. I visited a butterfly farm when I was up in Cairns once, that one and the Cairns Birdwing were there in abundance, so gorgeous! Val |
