Don't know about this one its label states Plumeria rubra Red Frangipani.
This one is a very bright pink with a small yellow center
I took this pic above at 5.30 last night so it would look darker
Took this a little while ago no sun out at present its streaked already
See the colour of the buds they are dark red.
Its nothing like the red I had before that got burnt by the frost
That was a dark red fading to pink and a much small flower and petals.
Maybe the colour will go darker when it gets more buds..

I will let you know Richard they opened on Saturday when it was raining, some dont like frosts here in my garden, all of my frannys got burnt by the three frosts that week this was the only one that died. It was the first one I bought Feb 2001 just after we finished building the house and I was shocked that it died.. I even lost a Light Pink Bougainvillea..
Gail position could have had something to do with it burning as out the front they were out in the open the other were closer to the house and the side ones had a few trees close by..
Thanks Gwen yes the red is a pretty one I find the other colours are better to take photos of.

MA Those red are just fab. different to my red. I think the reds are very hard
to photograph. Faye took pics of our red and pink ones , they looked much
the same colour.Pitta.

I am often surprised where frangis will grow. We used to live on a farm at a little place called Conondale in the ranges behind the Sunshine Coast. It used to get heavy frosts most winter mornings, not sure of the temps but the frost used to stay on the ground until 9 or 10am even in the sun. There was a big frangipani growing quite happily in the front yard.
Knowledge is knowing a tomato is a fruit, wisdom is knowing not to use it in a fruit salad.
A ounce of common sense is worth more than a ton of intelligence.

How long are these flowers open like that,they certainly are a nice coloured flower M A.
Doesn`t sound like they would like our -8 frost |

It's a pretty one.
My dark red seems to vary a lot. Sometimes it is nearly a black red and other times more a dark pink, even seen it with a touch yellowish/orange centre a couple of times. I think it depends a lot on the weather - the better the conditions, the better the colour. When it has been very hot and dry the flowers are much smaller and very washed out looking.
