And much to my surprise this Kangaroo Paw has come back to life again Its only about 30cms tall now used to be 180cms but has a few flower stems on it..

Almost bought a light green one in Big W a while back Talked myself out of it because it was raining..

It was so pretty Gwen and wide and Tall over 6ft

Posted - 13/01/2009 : 20:52:03 MA i'm surprised you can grow Kangaroo Paws in Brisbane . I thought they only grew in WA ,obviously not as they are alive and well in your garden.They look nice, always look like velvet to me.Pitta.

Posted - 13/01/2009 : 07:49:29 Thanks Cheryl, Sorry to hear that, it could be a age thing or if its in a pot they dont seem to flower or so small you could miss them.. It was only when I put mine into a garden bed that it has been flowering its little head off...

Posted - 13/01/2009 : 07:12:17 Thanks Gail I thought the Kangaroo Paw had died for sure after all that rain (please come again) we had in November and Early December,it went very black and I was sure it was rotten then came the new little green shoots I was so pleased as its a lovely plant, not so much of it there now hopefully it will multiply again and very soon..
Yes that Liriope is another pretty Native and stays in flower for many months.
