My basic weeding rule: if they grow in rows they're flowers; if they don't they're weeds.

Posted - 03/01/2009 : 11:30:23 I remember Mary-Anne. My two big ones are very diferent to each other - one is about 1.2m tall but very wide and bushy, the other is getting close to 2m tall but not as bushy. They are both the same age and in the same size pots (big ones - 16" across the top of the pot), both get fed and watered the same, and they are only 5m apart - one each corner of the deck.
I just had a look to see if I had a recent picture of both of them but only found this one taken in October - they have grown quite a bit more since then.

I wouldn't worry about them as it can take months to get used to the sun. All new growth will be ok.

Posted - 03/01/2009 : 10:49:19 I agree Gwen... Its drizzly here today So between it all I managed to take a few pics.
This is the second plant just down from it its starting also.

This is the one planted under the Jacaranda tree in the shade.

I know its hard to tell but there is a big difference in size..

Posted - 03/01/2009 : 09:19:02 Maybe this was the other half of one, can you remember that far back Gail where you sent me two seeds and one had twins so I had three plants from them that smaller one of the two was always a bit on the weaker side..

Posted - 03/01/2009 : 07:14:35 Yes we had a couple of hot dry windy days recently, one thing I do know its not from lack of water, that would be the wettest bed in our garden.

Posted - 03/01/2009 : 06:18:02 And what a shame Gail, just when it was starting to get a move on too.
The one I planted out the front under one of the Jacaranda trees is flying away, could be twice as big or more so I thought shade would be better.. I will keep my eye on it and if it gets any worse I will dig it up and plant elsewhere..

Posted - 03/01/2009 : 05:15:19 It could be sunburn but they will handle full hot sun easily so maybe it just needs to acclimatise a bit more.
