Posted - 04/12/2008 : 10:19:01 Still getting a few even allowing for the rats or whatever that are eating them. I was late getting the new ones in but the old ones are starting their next flush.

Posted - 04/12/2008 : 09:12:55 yay! pamela...you are close to being the third or fourth person downunder with ripe tomatoes in the new season (according to me. based on my internet addiction of tomato sites)(not sure how to figure on the folks in the tropics since they seem to be growing year round. are they the first with the new crop? or the last with the old crop?)
in any case... show us a picture!!!

Posted - 04/12/2008 : 04:33:41 It won't be long Ota - it seems to take ages for that first one to ripen then suddenly you have dozens ripe all at once
Well done Pamela

Posted - 03/12/2008 : 06:56:13 Me too - I am only days behind you Tessa. Lots and lots and lots of green tomatoes. I watered them with a Seasol pack on the hose that I also emptied part of a packet of sulphate of potash into - don't know why as there was already masses of flowers.
I am like Ellie my horse - when I think about food (as she does often) I cannot resist licking my lips :-) I iwll post a photo - have to get up there today anyway. I carpeted the tomato garden with the left over roll of my bedroom carpet - why bother keeping this roll when it is much nicer to walk on it up there and it will smother a path of weeds.
