I have just become the owner of a Dell laptop and at the age 73 have started emailing and web surfing. I am a keen gardener who hasn't been able to do any gardening since a stroke in 1999. Maybe this site will allow me to talk to other gardeners to share knowledge that I have accumulated over 50 years! I hope to meet the members of this forum as the months go by. I am able to get around the garden on my electric scooter and I have an assistant man who comes in to upkeep the garden by pruning and planting. It isn't the same as doing it myself of course but I do still enjoy getting out in my garden.

I'm sure you will Faye

Thanks for the welcome that my mum - Pitta/Gwen - and myself have received. We got rather carried away the first couple of days and posted a lot. Will continue to check in and read all the interesting gardening and other information. I'm thinking it may be easier to put most of our good garden pictures into albums on my flickr photo site and place the weblinks into my forum posts. Anyhow I'll work it out as we go. So far all very enjoyable. The garden talk has prompted mum to buy some new plants! Hope I can keep them alive!

Welcome Pitta, I would be very interested to know what sort of plants you are growing up there. By the way, where abouts are you in NQ?

Hello Pitta,
WELCOME!!! I too look forward to seeing pics of your garden. No falling off the scooter please, no matter how good the bloom at the back of the garden is!!!! Sorry to hear about the stroke...what a bummer!! Glad to hear you have some garden assistance. Any grandchildren? Any pets? What is the favourite plant/plants you have in your garden. What is flowering in your neighbour's houses at the moment?
I am in Brisbane and look forward to hearing about tropical plants too. Try to stay cool, and I don't just mean in the temperature way!!! Sincerely, Jacqueline

Hi Pitta, great to see another enthusiast. I'm a tropical lover so am looking forward to hearing about your garden.

Knowledge is knowing a tomato is a fruit, wisdom is knowing not to use it in a fruit salad.
